Hi, I’m Kris Stokes from Custom Fitness Personal Training Studio, and today, I just wanted to come to you with a positive message that you are doing better than you think you are. A lot of times, we tend to focus on the negative side. We tend to focus on the things that we miss or the things that we aren’t doing well, and we really miss out on thinking about the positive side and the wins that we’re having every day. But, you really are doing better than you think. More often than not, that’s actually the truth. I know that, for example, our clientele, whenever it comes to the holiday season, tend to feel like they’re off-track, but after being reassessed, find that they’re actually in a better place or, at least, maintained the place where they were at before all the hectic holidays began. And that’s due to the habits that they work on.
The underlying piece of our subconscious drives our day-to-day actions and motivations. And I know that even if you haven’t been working with us, you have some habits like that. You have some things that are very important to you, and whether you are at a place where you have to think about that really hard every day to make sure it gets done, or you’re at a place where it works from your subconscious, there are things that you are doing every day to have small wins. This pandemic that we’re in is a journey. It is a journey where some days are going to feel really hard, and other days feel doable. They feel okay. We may not have many days where we just feel absolutely normal anymore, and that’s okay because right now, we’re just in a weird funk. And we’ll make it through this, but make sure that you focus on those habits that you’ve already had, those things that you really want to do.
If it’s eating well, if it’s making sure you’re getting exercise, those are all great habits to have, but even taking time for yourself every day, having a personal quiet time to reflect on the day and to have some personal time for you is also a great habit to have. I know that I’ve talked to a lot of people recently who feel like they’ve been able to boost their activity level because they’ve been either getting out in the garden planting or they’ve been going out for daily walks. Not to mention that people who have been able to spend more time with their families in a positive way, not in a trying to distract them way, but actually getting to spend time with them and enjoy them.
These are all things that have been wins through this process. If you really look, you can find them, and you can see them, and you can celebrate them. And that’s a really important thing to remember to celebrate each of those wins, whether it’s just happened once or it’s happened repeatedly over these last few weeks. So, just know that you can do this, that you are doing this, and that we will all make it through this. It’s going to be okay even if it’s not normal. I hope you have a great day.
