Hi, I’m Kris Stokes from Custom Fitness Personal Training Studio. And today we’re talking about how to build a stronger digestive system. Right now with what all is going on, our number one commodity is our health. Our immune system is a big key to that. And so if we realize that 70% of our immune system is actually housed in our digestive tract, it’s really important to make sure that our digestion’s going well and there’s several reasons for this, but if our digestion is not going well, that means that we’re not absorbing the higher contents of minerals and vitamins, which also help us to stay full during the day. So we’re not snacking as much. Not every body absorbs nutrition the same way. So we may take in the same amount, you could take in the same amount as 10 other people, but your body may not absorb the same things that those other people did, or they may not each absorb things that someone else did.

So in order to make sure that our body is at its highest level of safety, of health, of immune ability, we want to make sure that we’re taking care of our digestive tract and that starts with eating the right foods. So cutting out the junk and right now is a great time to experiment with that. The cleaner that we’re eating, the better. So we’re aiming for things that are less packaged and processed and more wholesome and whole. We’re looking for what I call real foods that don’t necessarily come in a package, but fruits, vegetables, all of your more natural side of things that are outside of your packages and your boxes. We want to make sure that we’re supplementing well, that we are taking our probiotics regularly, that we’re taking only the supplements that we need. Remember, the supplements are not a replacement for our food, but they’re rather there to help supplement or fill in the gaps where our nutrition maybe isn’t 100%, or where our body’s not absorbing those things from those specific foods. Perhaps there’s a better way to get it in.

When it comes to probiotic ideas, taking a supplement is great. But what about the probiotic foods? You could also eat fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi. There’s fermented beverages like kombucha and probiotic water, and those are just helping to get better bacteria into your body to help regulate the balance of immune health within your body. So those are just some things that you can do today, but really if you start looking at your diet first, you will be able to build your digestive system to being stronger and therefore build your immune system to being stronger, which will help to keep you healthy in the long run. I hope this helps you out and down below you’re going to see a link to be able to get our immune-boosting smoothie guide. Some great recipes in there and I’d love to share those with you. Hope you have a great day.
